The WVU Medicine-United Hospital Center Family Medicine Residency Program has again earned accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

The review committee commended both the program and the hospital for demonstrating substantial compliance with the Accreditation Council’s program requirements and/or institutional requirements without any citations.

The decision accredits the residency program for one full year.

“I am proud of our achievements at the UHC Family Medicine Residency Program. These highly skilled physicians now have successful practices in the area; some are community preceptors, hospitalists and even program faculty,” said Dr. Eric J. Radcliffe, program director of UHC Family Medicine Residency.

“The UHC Family Medicine Residency Program is an excellent training program boasting 10 consecutive years of achieving a 100% board exam pass rate for both the ABFM and AOBFP exams — achieving scores that exceed the national average,” Radcliffe said.

The UHC Family Medicine Residency Program consistently achieves full ACGME accreditation in allopathic and osteopathic medicine.

The original program began teaching allopathic residents in 1975.
