Academic Hospital Medicine - University of Missouri

The University of Missouri-Columbia, Division of Hospital Medicine, seeks full-time academic Hospitalists to join our well-established program. Our rapidly growing hospitalist group provides inpatient support for a multi-hospital academic health system. We seek applicants who have exemplary clinical skills and a strong commitment to teaching.

University Hospital offers the only Level I trauma center and helicopter service in central Missouri. Physicians throughout the state refer many of their most complicated cases to our flagship hospital. The 400+ bed hospital system specializes in treating the most severe illnesses and injuries. Its seven-story Critical Care Tower provides the latest in medical technology for critically ill or injured patients.

Job Details:

All ranks available, commensurate with experience
~90% clinical responsibilities
~10% teaching and administrative responsibilities
7 of our 11 teams have learners with them

Research: None expected, but we do have opportunities to participate in existing projects and can support funded researchers as well.

Schedule:
FT = 28 weeks per year

Nocturnist Shifts: 7p – 7a

Job Requirements:

BC/BE
Successful completion of internal medicine residency at an ACGME accredited institution
Commitment to providing quality medical education to residents and medical students
Ability to run rapid responses and codes
Commitment to quality improvement
Priority will also be given to candidates from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years’ experience as a hospitalist
Interest in working as a career academic hospitalist
Training/experience in point of care ultrasound
Bedside procedures
Training/Interest/Experience in Medical Informatics

Vaccination Statement
