West Virginia University Department of Pediatrics and WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital seeks a Pediatric Hospitalist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. This position is primarily based at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV.

The Opportunity:

  • Join a group of two other pediatric hospitalists, backed by local private practice and academic hospitalist pediatricians
  • Daily rounding in a Level 1 nursery and wards, attendance at difficult deliveries and cesarean sections, and occasional consults to the emergency department
  • Coverage schedule is currently divided into 2-3 day shifts, but is flexible to the needs of the group
  • Call is from home at night
  • Camden Clark completed a 60 million dollar expansion and their Pediatrics Department is centered on the philosophy of Family Centered Care, designed to promote the family involvement thought critical to the child’s recovery.
  • The Special Delivery Unit is designed with the single-room LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum) concept in mind, meaning one spacious, private birthing suite for the entire hospital stay.

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
  • Eligible for state medical license
  • Completion of a pediatric residency program or a combined pediatrics/internal medicine residency
  • Board certified / eligible in pediatrics
