Adult Hospitalist

Exeter Hospital is a 100-bed community hospital on the beautiful seacoast of NH, an hour away from Boston.  We currently are looking at full-time Adult Hospitalist, and are always interested in per-diems.

On a typical day, shifts are as follows:

-4-5 physician daytime rounders (7am-7pm, typically 12-15 patients)

-one APC daytime rounder

-one APC admitter

-one physician evening admitter (5pm-9pm, typically 3-5 admissions)

-one physician nocturnist (9pm-7am).  We are looking for per diem nocturnist weekend shift coverage.

The APC admitter takes most daytime admissions, but daytime rounders take admissions as needed, typically 1-2 admissions/day.  A full-time schedule is about 14 full shifts over a 28 day period, and there is opportunity for internal moonlighting.

Hospitalists are non-procedural.  There is strong specialist collaboration with Cardiology, Consultative Psychiatry, Palliative Care, Pulmonary, Critical Care, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Nephrology, and Oncology, as well as availability of tele-consultants for Infectious Disease and Neurology.  No Neurosurgery or Cardiothoracic surgery services; patients requiring these services are transferred.   There is a 10-bed open ICU, with majority of patients managed by Critical Care physician.

The hospitalist team prides itself on a collaborative approach to care and excellent collegiality within the group.  We currently have 10 full-time physicians and 6 NPs, as well a generous per-diem provider pool.  For full-time providers, we offer a quality bonus, RVU bonus, CME, and generous time-off.
