We are currently seeking a Residency Program Director, to lead in the development and oversite of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at HCA Florida Northwest Hospital in South Florida. The Program Director is responsible for the leadership, organization, operation, and the general administration of the Internal Medicine Residency Program sponsored by HCA Florida Northwest Hospital. The Program Director establishes the strategic direction of the program and is responsible for the standards, quality and reputation of the residency program. The Program Director is expected to integrate the residency program with physician practices and hospital clinical services in a manner that enhances value and quality, and that promotes an optimal environment for graduate medical education.

The program is designed to offer residents a rewarding, educational environment where residents are provided individualized learning opportunities by faculty and staff who support and sustain one another throughout quality care delivery. The faculty are committed to ensuring the residents' clinical experience and educational needs are fulfilled while expanding residents' perspectives to be inclusive of cultures, values and ideals. The HCA Florida Northwest Hospital Internal Medicine Residency program's mission is to develop the next generation of physicians and physician leaders.

Qualified Candidates:
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Core Faculty member in an ACGME -accredited Internal Medicine program
  • Must be clinically active in Internal Medicine
  • Must be Board Certified in Internal Medicine
  • Have previous leadership / administrative experience
  • Be willing to combine Administrative and Diagnostic (teaching) Responsibilities (50/50)
  • Have strong administrative and team building skills

Responsibilities will include:
  • Authority and accountability for the operation of the Residency Program
  • Maintain ACGME accreditation
  • Recruiting residents into the program and developing evaluation process for their performance
  • Participation in competency evaluation of residents
  • Additional responsibilities to ensure programs success
