Weill Cornell Medicine in partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian Queens is looking for a Division Chief, Hospital Medicine/Vice Chief Clinical Operations, Department of Medicine for NewYork-Presbyterian Queens.

 

NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, located in Flushing, New York, is a 535-bed, Level 1 Trauma Center and tertiary care teaching facility. The only Centers of Medicaid and Medicare services (CMS) 5-Star ranked hospital in Queens. NewYork-Presbyterian Queens is also a Top 250 hospital by Healthgrades three years straight 2020-2022. The Department of Medicine takes care of over 10,000 admissions annually and runs an average daily census of 300 patients per day and is the busiest Clinical service at the hospital which sees about 100,000 Emergency room visits a year.  An academic affiliate of Weill Cornell Medicine, our academic programs include three graduate medical education residency programs and six fellowship programs.

 

Candidates must be Board Certified in Internal Medicine and quality for an Associate or Full Professor position at Weill Cornell Medicine. Applicants must have a proven track record in leadership roles in clinical care and education.   The successful candidate will be clinically active; possess excellent interpersonal skills and mentoring skills; and have significant administrative ability and experience managing physicians and advanced practice providers. Experience with a range of clinical scheduling/coverage models and ability to coordinate large groups of providers is essential. The ideal candidate will foster excellent working relationships with nursing and administration and work with the Department Chief to build esprit de corps and a collaborative culture of provider engagement. The selected candidate will work closely with the Chief of Medicine, Chief Medical Officer, Director of Patient Experience and Vice President of Patient Flow to improve and sustain high quality clinical outcomes, maintain high patient satisfaction scores, and improve satisfaction and retention of hospitalist providers.

In the borough’s southern extremes, the surf is always up at Rockaway Beach.

The salary range for this position is $375,000-$475,000. This compensation range does not include our amazing benefits and any incentive payments, based on quality measures and productivity, that may be applicable to this role.

 

The selected candidate will be an employee of Weill Cornell Medicine and hold an academic appointment at Weill Cornell Medical College. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and credentials.
