We have immediate needs for a full time nocturnist.
We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Hospitalist Physicians to join our collegial hospital medicine team Northeast Methodist Hospital. As a Hospitalist Physician, you will be an integral part of our team, providing comprehensive inpatient care to our diverse patient population. Your expertise in managing acute and chronic conditions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring efficient patient flow will contribute to exceptional patient outcomes and experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in a 20-physician program, providing physician staffing coverage.
- Daytime staffing: 9 physicians.
- Nighttime coverage: 1 physician with 1 APP (Advanced Practice Provider).
- Collaborate with Intensivists to manage the Open ICU.
- Intensivists are available 24/7, either on-site or reachable by phone.
- Coordinate admissions and consultations with the Intensivist team.
- Act as the primary attending physician for patients in the Open ICU, regardless of their location.
- ED providers are responsible for running codes.
- Physicians may perform procedures if they are privileged, although time constraints may limit these opportunities.
- Admissions follow a round-robin model from 7 am to 3 pm, with each physician participating.
- From 3 pm to 5 pm, one provider handles admissions, and from 5 pm to 7 pm, another provider takes over.
- Late calls are not part of the round-robin system.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Active medical license and unrestricted ability to practice medicine.
- Must be a valid US Citizen or Permanent Resident. Unfortunately we cannot consider J-1 or H-1B Visa holders at this hospital.
- Demonstrated experience in hospital medicine and managing acute and chronic conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
