Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA is hiring a full time MD/DO Hospitalist

  • Full time position is 180 shifts annually / 15 shifts per month avg.
  • All MD's share shifts equally - rounding, swing and overnight - 24/7 onsite coverage 
  • Rounding shift shared by 5 MD's - typically 90-100 patients per shift
  • 12 hour shifts - Swing is 10a-10p M-F and 9a-9p weekends
  • Night shift is 8p-8a - typically 1x per month
  • This is a flexible schedule - NOT 7 on/7off - schedule is worked out by all providers 60-90 days in advance and holidays are scheduled beginning of the year
  • Closed ICU
  • No Procedures
  • Family Medicine Residents run codes, fall assessments and overnight pronouncements
  • EMR is EPIC
  • Hospitalist team includes MD's and APC's working together
  • Open to a new Grad MD/DO - but preference will be given to provider with 2 to 3 years of hospital work experience
