Clinical Leadership Executive Search is excited to announce a physician leadership opportunity at Renown Health, northern Nevada’s largest locally governed, not-for-profit integrated health system. We are seeking an innovative and operationally driven System Division Chief of Hospital Medicine. This key leadership role will impact the future of care delivery across a $1B system with 950 beds, including 2 acute care hospitals, a children’s hospital, rehabilitation hospital, and a network of 550 physician providers and urgent care centers. With over 7,500 employees, Renown serves over 1M patients across northern Nevada, Lake Tahoe, and NE California.

In collaboration with University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med), which boasts robust residency and fellowship programs, this role offers abundant academic and professional opportunities. The Division Chief will serve as a bridge between Renown Health and UNR Med, helping to shape the Hospitalist and Internal Medicine residency program for both organizations and create a singular division.

Position Overview

This senior leadership role is 50% administrative and 50% clinical with potential carve outs for academic pursuits, reporting directly to the Chair of the Department of Medicine at UNR Med. Key responsibilities include

  • Leading quality improvement and clinical resource management across the Renown Health system and act as a key liaison for medical staff and hospitalist division activities.
  • Driving initiatives in patient safety, quality improvement, risk management, and evidence-based resource utilization.
  • Overseeing critical inpatient clinical metrics including length of stay, readmission rates, discharge efficiency, and patient satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a visionary physician leader with operational experience and outstanding communication skills who can build and nurture relationships across Renown, UNR Med, and community partners. The ideal candidate will be board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, specialize in hospital medicine and passionate about improving care delivery and advancing a singular hospitalist program to achieve the highest standards of clinical excellence.
