Department of Emergency Medicine at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth.

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) is seeking Internal Medicine board-certified/eligible candidates for full-time faculty positions in our Hospitalist Division. The McGovern Medical School is the sixth-largest Medical School in the U.S. and first in the number of health care graduates in Texas. Our Hospitalist service has a traditional block schedule with 7 days of clinical duties followed by 7 days of non-clinical time. This does include night and weekend coverage which is distributed among all of the clinical team members. Our primary site is located at Memorial Hermann Hospital (MHH) in the Texas Medical Center (TMC).

MHH-TMC provides leading-edge care in cardiac, trauma, neuroscience, orthopedics, women’s health, general surgery, organ transplantation, and much more. As one of only two certified Level I trauma centers in the greater Houston area, the hospital provides 24/7 emergency and trauma care to over 75,000 patients annually. MHH-TMC has achieved one of the highest levels of recognition a hospital can receive – Magnet recognition for excellence in nursing services by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program.
