Family Medicine / Internal Medicine Locum Opportunity Kentucky
A healthcare organization is seeking a Board Certified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician to provide inpatient hospital coverage in a rural community hospital setting. This assignment offers full-spectrum inpatient responsibilities with independent call coverage and support from an experienced Physician Assistant.
Compensation:
24 Hour On Call: $3,120 with a minimum of 4 hours gratis.
Call Back: $320/hr
Coverage Dates
July 3 (8:00 AM) July 6 (8:00 AM)
Schedule
24-hour coverage shifts
Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM 7:00 AM
Unrestricted call coverage while offsite
Nursing home call coverage included
Practice Setting
Inpatient Hospital Medicine
25-bed community hospital
Level IV Trauma Center
Epic EMR
Clinical Responsibilities
Daily inpatient rounding
Admissions and discharges
Management of adult and geriatric patients
Nursing home call coverage within the county
Coordination of care with hospital staff and ancillary services
Support Staff
One Physician Assistant
On-site Laboratory Services
On-site Radiology Services
Patient Population
Adult and Geriatric
Average Daily Census: Approximately 14 patients
Call Coverage
Sole physician responsible for inpatient and nursing home call during assigned coverage period
No additional physician coverage available during assignment
Requirements
Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
Active Kentucky Medical License
Active Kentucky DEA Registration
Current BLS Certification
Ideal Candidate
Comfortable practicing independently in a community hospital setting
Experienced with inpatient medicine and call coverage
Confident managing admissions, rounding, and nursing home call responsibilities
Able to provide comprehensive care across adult and geriatric populations
Credentialing Requirements
Current NPDB Self-Query report required
Clean and current credentialing documentation preferred
