About the Position

Hospitalist Locum Opportunity North Carolina

A well-established hospitalist team in North Carolina is seeking a physician for locum tenens coverage. The provider must be comfortable with EKG interpretation and arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis.
Coverage Dates (7 AM - 7 PM):

• April 25
  
• June 9-12
  
• June 18-20
  
• November 25-28
  
• December 24-28
  

New providers must arrive the day before their first shift for orientation.
Position Requirements:

• Hospital Medicine experience required
  
• Minimum of 1 year of inpatient experience preferred
  
• Must hold a valid North Carolina DEA
  
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required
  

Job Highlights:

• 19-bed critical access hospital with general med-surg beds
  
• Responsible for admitted patient care and ED evaluations for admission
  
• Average inpatient census: 12-15
  
• Average admissions per day: 5-6
  
• No ICU coverage required
  
• Must respond to codes
  
• Clinical duties include admissions, rounding, inpatient care, and discharge preparation
  
• EPIC EMR system in use
