Mercyhealth System in Freeport, Illinois is currently seeking a Full-Time, Board-Certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician to join our experienced Hospitalist team at FHN Memorial Hospital .

We are specifically seeking a seasoned hospitalist who is comfortable managing a broad range of inpatient acuity and contributing to program quality and growth initiatives within a community-focused hospital environment.
Opportunity Overview:
  • Full-Time Position
  • 7 on / 7 off Schedule
  • 12-hour shifts
  • 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (Day Shift)
  • Night Shift opportunities available with premium compensation
  • Includes weekends and holidays
  • EMR transitioning to EPIC
  • E-ICU support model currently in place, transitioning toward expanded in-house coverage
Departmental Scope:

Hospitalists manage a wide range of inpatient cases including:

• Acute medical admissions • Chronic disease exacerbations • Post-surgical medical management • Care coordination and discharge planning • Collaboration with primary care and specialty providers

Strong system-wide collaboration across Mercyhealth's Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin network.
Required Qualifications:
  • MD/DO Board Certified (preferred) or Board Eligible
  • Internal Medicine or Family Medicine training
  • Eligible for Illinois medical licensure
  • ACLS and BLS certification
  • Demonstrated inpatient experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Compensation & Benefits:
Day Shift Base Salary: $345,000

Night Shift: Premium compensation available
