What You ll Do:

• Provide emergency gynecological coverage in a hospital setting
• Respond to OB and GYN emergencies promptly
• Collaborate with in-house anesthesia and other medical staff
• Support the labor and delivery unit as needed, including emergent situations
• Communicate effectively with hospital staff and patients
• Maintain adherence to hospital policies and safety protocols

What You Need:

• Medical license in Virginia
• Board certification or eligibility in OB/GYN
• Prior hospital OB/GYN or hospitalist experience preferred
• Strong emergency response and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently in emergency situations

About the Assignment:
This position at a leading hospital in Christiansburg, VA, offers the opportunity to provide emergency OB/GYN coverage in a busy hospital environment with an average of 72 deliveries per month. While the hospital does not have a Level 3 NICU onsite, Level 3B services are available at the main facility. The hospital uses a model with one in-house Laborist and private OB providers managing their own patients, with backup support available from other specialists. Expect to handle emergent gynecological cases with a team committed to quality care and safety.
