Clinical responsibilities

• Provide in-house hospitalist coverage on a 7 on/7 off schedule.
• Admit and manage acute-care inpatients, including ICU/PCU-level patients (5 ICU/PCU beds within a 53-bed acute care unit).
• Perform ventilator management and respiratory care for mechanically ventilated patients.
• Supervise and collaborate with NPs and PAs; tele-support is available for admissions and floor calls.

Clinical environment & tools

• EMR: Epic
• Support: NPs/PAs available; MD supervision required
• Case mix: Acute care with ICU/PCU patients
• Phone/teleconsult support for admissions and night coverage

Requirements

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (ABIM, ABFM, ABMS)
• Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license
• Active DEA with VA address (schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, 5)
• ACLS certification
• Residency-trained (MD/DO); ECFMG certificate required for international graduates
• Recent case logs (past 2 years)
• Willingness to supervise NPs/PAs
