Community Hospital Just Outside Manhattan, NY
Compensation: $400,000 (based on 5+ years of administrative leadership experience)
Start Date: Approximately 3 Months
We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced physician leader to serve as Director of an adult hospital medicine program at a high-performing, community-based hospital conveniently located just outside Manhattan.
This is a premier leadership opportunity within a well-established inpatient program. The incoming Director will have the ability to influence strategic direction, optimize operations, and enhance the delivery of high-quality patient care within a growing organization.
We are specifically seeking candidates with 5+ years of experience as a Hospitalist Medical Director or in a comparable hospital leadership role.
Role Overview
The Director will provide both strategic leadership and day-to-day operational oversight of the hospitalist service line, managing a team of physicians and advanced practice providers.
This leader will play a central role in advancing program performance, strengthening clinical operations, and aligning departmental initiatives with broader organizational goals.

- Oversee recruitment, scheduling, and performance management of hospitalists and APPs
- Define and execute program goals focused on quality, efficiency, and growth
- Manage departmental operations, including financial oversight and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with executive leadership on quality improvement, patient safety, and operational initiatives
- Track and improve key performance indicators across the program
- Promote a collaborative, accountable, high-performing team culture
- MD or DO
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine
- Completion of Internal Medicine residency
- Minimum 5 years of administrative leadership experience in hospital medicine
- Strong background in operations, quality improvement, and team development
- Eligible for or currently holding a New York State medical license (NY license strongly preferred)
- US Citizen or Green Card holder
