Job Description Acute Care Surgical Hospitalist (MD/DO) Full-Time
Location: Renton, Washington (Seattle Area)
A well-established, not-for-profit healthcare system in the Seattle area is actively seeking a full-time Acute Care Surgical Hospitalist to join its dynamic inpatient surgical team in Renton, Washington. The organization participates in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program.
Position Overview
• Provide inpatient surgical care for acute care and emergency general surgery patients
• Evaluate and manage surgical consults from the Emergency Department and inpatient units
• Perform a broad range of general surgical procedures, including emergency surgeries
• Manage pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care
• Participate in trauma and acute care surgery call coverage (as applicable)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesia, critical care, and nursing staff
• Ensure timely documentation and adherence to quality and safety standards
• Support efficient patient throughput and care transitions
Qualifications
• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
• Active or eligible for Washington State medical licensure
• Active/eligible DEA registration
• Experience in acute care surgery, trauma, or emergency general surgery preferred
• Strong operative and clinical decision-making skills
