Job Description: Our client, a prominent teaching hospital serving a diverse urban community, is hiring a Hospitalist Physician to join its Department of Medicine. This pivotal role offers an opportunity to deliver high-quality inpatient care within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, contributing to patient recovery and overall health outcomes. The hospital prides itself on its commitment to quality, compassion, and serving the needs of multicultural populations, located in a vibrant Brooklyn neighborhood on the border of Western Queens. Responsibilities:Evaluate and assess hospitalized patients to establish accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive care protocols.Order, interpret, and utilize diagnostic tests effectively.Perform various medical procedures required for inpatient management.Coordinate multidisciplinary team efforts, including specialists and ancillary staff, to ensure seamless patient care.Monitor patient progress, making adjustments as necessary to optimize outcomes.Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding conditions, treatments, and care plans.Maintain detailed and accurate medical records.Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement, and compliance to healthcare regulations, hospital policies, and best practices in patient safety.Teaching and resident supervision. Requirements:MD or DO degree; foreign medical graduates considered with appropriate licensing.Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine from an accredited U.S. program.Board eligible or certified in Internal Medicine.Current, unrestricted New York State medical license.Active DEA registration or eligibility.Active or eligible Medicare/Medicaid enrollment.Inpatient internal medicine care experience (1-3 years preferred).Excellent communication, organizational, and bedside manners.Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems and Microsoft Office.ACLS/BCLS certification required.Bilingual Spanish skills are preferred but not to work efficiently in a team-oriented, inpatient setting.Must be available to work a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule (14 shifts per month).No J1 visa sponsorship; visa transfer to H1B is considered.
