This exciting position offers a manageable patient load, predictable call expectations, and the chance to make a significant impact on the well-being of children in our community.

- Focus on Personalized Care: This locum tenens position allows you to provide thorough and attentive care to an average of 2 patients per day, with a total inpatient census of 5.
- Work-Life Balance: Enjoy predictable call expectations, with the requirement to be within 30 minutes of the facility during call, not necessarily on-site. This allows for a healthy work-life balance.
- Supportive Environment: Work within a collaborative team in a 10-bed pediatric unit fostering a patient-centered approach.
- Advanced Technology: Utilize the EPIC electronic medical records system to ensure efficient documentation and communication.
- Meaningful Impact: Contribute your expertise to the well-being of children in our community, including providing care in the newborn nursery, for scheduled C-sections, and deliveries.
What You'll Do:
- Manage an average inpatient census of 5 pediatric patients.
- Admit and care for an average of 2 patients per day.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for pediatric patients.
- Provide comprehensive care for newborns, including those in the nursery.
- Support families throughout their child's hospitalization.
- Document all patient interactions, diagnoses, treatment plans, and interventions thoroughly and efficiently within the EPIC electronic medical records system.
Who You Are:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with board certification in Pediatric Hospital Medicine (required).
- Current and active license to practice medicine in North Carolina (only).
- BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (required).
- A commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care within a collaborative and team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
