Hospitalist Physician Assistant

Physician Assistant or NP Hospitalists Needed !

A growing hospital system in the greater Buffalo NY area is interviewing for a 7 on 7 off, 12 hour shift nights Hospitalist position. this hospitalist will not be the sole provider during the evenings, and has a wide variety of direct onsite and telephonic support. Candidates with primary care and internal medicine backgrounds preferred.

Schedule
7pm - 7am

7 on - 7 off rotating - possibility to be flexible for less days in a row

10 - 12 hour shifts
Responsibilities

• Perform history and physical exams on new and established patients
  
• Initiate appropriate treatment & testing for evaluation of illness based on training and experience
  
• Communicate with patients and family members concerning health related issues
  
• Provide counseling and instructions to patients regarding health related issues
  
• Document using EMR system
  
• Participate in continuous quality improvement processes
  
• Active listening, critical thinking, reading comprehension, effective communication, time management, judgement and decision making
  
• Texas licensed Physician Assistant with a masters degree or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  
• ACLS certification
  
• 2 years of PA/NP experience
  

Preferable
New York Licensed , a Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program or equivalent per NYSDOH regulations. NYS License with current registration. National certification preferred. ACLS, ATLS and PALS course work required. At least one (1) year of experience in an inpatient or emergency department setting. Proven interpersonal skills , Visa candidates can be considered.
