Job Description:
The Section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at OU Health is seeking BC/BE pediatricians to join a growing and highly collaborative academic hospital medicine program at Oklahoma Children's Hospital OU Health. As the state s leading pediatric referral center continues to expand, this is an opportunity to help shape the future of inpatient pediatric care while practicing in a clinically robust and academically engaged environment.

Clinical practice occurs at Oklahoma Children s Hospital, a freestanding not for profit 348 bed tertiary care referral center with approximately 14,000 total admissions per year. Onsite pediatric ED, PICU, CVICU, and NICU units provide robust medical and surgical subspecialty support. PHM coverage does not include newborn nursery/delivery room; however, circumcision and moonlighting opportunities exist. Additionally, we will provide consultative support to a new onsite 72 bed inpatient Behavioral Health Center opening in December 2026.

Full-time faculty work 1,800 hours annually, with clinical responsibilities that include day coverage, night coverage, and transfer center admitting officer shifts. For physicians interested in nocturnist practice, pay and hour differential are available for primary night positions.

Faculty appointments are available through the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, with regular opportunities to teach medical students, pediatric residents, and fellows. The section values physicians who want to contribute beyond clinical care and offers meaningful involvement in quality improvement, patient safety, advocacy, research, and educational initiatives. Administrative leadership opportunities are available for mid-career faculty.

Qualifications:

MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree from an accredited medical school

Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics

Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Hospital Medicine is welcomed, not required

Current Oklahoma medical licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure

A record of strong clinical skills working with a diverse and complex patient population and a desire to work

A desire to work collaboratively in an environment of student, resident, and fellow education
