Atrium Health is seeking dedicated Nocturnist Hospitalists (MD/DO) to join its growing Hospital Medicine teams across the Charlotte metro region. These roles offer stable schedules, strong clinical support, and the opportunity to practice in one of the Southeast's most advanced and collaborative health systems.

Candidates will join a well structured hospitalist program with access to subspecialty support, eICU resources, and streamlined workflows.

The Nocturnist provides high quality inpatient care during night shifts, managing admissions, cross coverage, and acute clinical needs across Atrium Health's community and tertiary hospitals. Candidates will join a well structured hospitalist program with access to subspecialty support, eICU resources, and streamlined workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform admissions, evaluations, and overnight management of hospitalized patients
- Provide cross coverage for the hospitalist service
- Participate in rapid response and code situations
- Collaborate with nursing, APPs, and specialty teams to ensure safe overnight care
- Utilize Atrium Health's integrated EMR and clinical support systems
- Communicate effectively with day teams for smooth handoffs
Schedule & Work Environment
- 7 on/7 off night rotation (12 hour shifts typical)
- Opportunities across multiple Charlotte area hospitals (community + tertiary)
- Manageable patient volumes with strong nursing and respiratory therapy support
- eICU and tele specialty access for higher acuity cases
- Procedures generally not required
Qualifications
- MD/DO, Board Certified/Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Eligible for North Carolina medical licensure
- Strong clinical judgment and comfort practicing independently overnight
- Commitment to team based, patient centered care
