Hospitalist job in Midland MI

A respected healthcare system serving the Midland, Michigan region is seeking a Locums Hospitalist to provide inpatient coverage across multiple facilities. This role offers the chance to join a collaborative hospital medicine team and deliver high-quality care to adult inpatients in a well-supported clinical setting.

Position highlights

• Location: Multiple facilities near Midland, MI
• Setting: Inpatient hospital medicine
• Schedule: Preferred coverage in 3-4 consecutive day blocks
• EMR: Epic with Dragon dictation

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for adult patients, including admissions, daily rounds, and discharges
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
• Coordinate care with specialists, nursing, case management, and ancillary teams to ensure safe, efficient transitions and continuity
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies
• Document encounters accurately and promptly using Epic/Dragon
• Apply evidence-based, patient-centered practices while maintaining efficient patient flow

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Graduate of an ACGME-accredited residency program
• Active Michigan medical license required
• Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (and any other required certifications must be AHA-issued)
