What You ll Do
- Provide direct medical care for hospitalized patients, including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
- Collaborate with specialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, CRNAs, and emergency physicians to coordinate patient care
- Respond to medical emergencies, conduct ventilator management, and interpret diagnostic tests
- Ensure thorough documentation of patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR
- Participate in clinical rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
- Educate patients and their families about diagnoses and follow-up care
- Support hospital policies, regulations, and ethical standards
What You Need
- Active MD or DO license in Vermont or eligible for license reciprocity
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (preferred)
- Prior hospitalist experience is a plus but not required
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rural hospital environment
