Job Description
TeamHealth is seeking a full-time internal medicine-trained nocturnist to join our well-established hospital medicine team at Hendrick Medical Center South in Abilene, Texas. Enjoy an attractive 7-on/7-off block schedule that supports a healthy work-life balance.

Practice Highlights

• 231-bed acute care hospital
• 20-bed open ICU
• 5 MDs 7am-7pm
• 1 APC 7am-7pm
• 1 APC 1pm-1am
• 1 MD 7pm-7am
• EMR: Allscripts

Hendrick Medical Center South offers excellent specialty backup, including gastroenterology, cardiology, neurology, spine surgery, general surgery, infectious disease, pulmonology, OB/GYN, wound care, interventional radiology (including procedural support for the emergency department).

Clinical Responsibilities
As a nocturnist, you will

• Manage overnight admissions
• Respond to rapid response events and code situations
• Serve as a primary admitting physician for the ICU
• Round on ICU patients as needed
• Average 6-10 admissions per night

Candidates who are comfortable performing bedside procedures are highly preferred.
