Job Details
We are seeking a LocumsHospitalist with Critical Care/ICU experience to provide inpatient coverage in WestBranch, Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician comfortablemanaging critically ill patients in a community hospital setting with a 7-on/7-offschedule and a broad scope of ICU procedures.

Proctoring Requirement: Five successfully proctored cases are required for each applicable procedurerequiring hospital privileges.

Assignment Details
- Location: West Branch, MI
- Position: Locums Hospitalist with ICU Physician
- Practice Setting: 100% Inpatient
- Schedule: 7 on / 7 off
- Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM with nighttime call
- Orientation: One day
- Proctoring: Two to three days required
- EMR: Epic / Dragon
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient hospitalist and ICU care for adult patients.
- Manage critically ill patients, including ventilator management and respiratory failure.
- Perform daily rounds, admissions, consultations, and discharges.
- Respond to patient emergencies and overnight call responsibilities.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, respiratory therapists, specialists, and ancillary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in Epic using Dragon dictation.
Required Procedures
Candidates must beexperienced and comfortable performing the following:
- Moderate Sedation
- Lumbar Puncture
- Endotracheal Intubation and Extubation
- Ventilator Management, including weaning and oxygen therapy
- Assessment for Intubation
- Paracentesis and Thoracentesis
- Chest Tube Insertion
- PICC Line Placement
- Central Venous Line Placement
- Arterial Line Insertion and Removal
- Tracheostomy Care, including Tube Changes
- Management of Tension Pneumothorax
- External Pacing, including temporary epicardial, transvenous, and transcutaneous pacemakers
Proctoring Requirement: Five successfully proctored cases are required for each applicable procedurerequiring hospital privileges.
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
- Significant Critical Care and ICU experience required.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Active Michigan medical license or active IMLC eligibility.
