We are seeking an experienced Locums OB Hospitalist Physician to providecoverage in Corpus Christi, Texas. This opportunity is ideal for a physiciancomfortable managing a high-volume, high-acuity obstetrical patient population.

Assignment Details
- Coverage Dates: September 14 and September 18
- Schedule: 24-hour shifts, 8:00 AM-8:00 AM
- Annual Birth Volume: Nearly 4,000 deliveries per year
- Maternal Care Level: Level IV
- NICU: Level III
- EMR: Meditech
- Provide comprehensive OB hospitalist coverage, including OBED and obstetrical triage
- Evaluate, admit, manage, and discharge unassigned obstetrical and gynecological patients
- Respond to labor, deliveries, obstetrical emergencies, and acute maternal conditions
- Manage complex and high-risk obstetrical patients, including maternal-fetal medicine and TOLAC cases
- Provide emergency care until the patient's assigned physician arrives and assumes care
- Perform deliveries and assist with complicated deliveries as needed
- Provide surgical assistance and first assist for cesarean sections when available
- Perform emergency surgical management of unassigned gynecological patients
- Provide OB/GYN consultations throughout the hospital
- Accept transferred patients and coordinate transport for critically ill obstetrical or gynecological patients
- Respond to major obstetrical emergencies, including hemorrhage and massive transfusion protocol activation
- Conduct history and physical examinations and coordinate ongoing patient care
- Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the care team
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, fetal monitoring, and other departmental initiatives
- Minimum of 5 years of OB experience required
- Experience managing high-acuity and complex obstetrical patients
- Comfortable working independently in an OBED and managing unassigned patients
- Strong experience with emergency obstetrical care and operative procedures
- Ability to manage complicated deliveries, TOLAC patients, and maternal-fetal medicine cases
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- NCC fetal heart monitoring certification preferred
