What you'll be working in
- Hospital-based inpatient practice at a 100-bed facility
- Typical daily census: 14-24 patients
- Admissions: about 4-5 per day
- Consults: about 4-6 per day, mainly for behavioral health and rehabilitation services
- No trauma designation
- On-site coverage with no expectation of being called back once your shift ends
Key responsibilities
- Provide full-spectrum hospital medicine care for adult inpatients
- Evaluate and manage both acute and chronic conditions, and perform daily rounds
- Admit and stabilize new patients while coordinating ongoing inpatient care
- Address clinical needs during assigned shifts and arrange consultations with behavioral health, rehab, and other services as needed
- Work closely with nursing, specialists, and the multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans
- Lead discharge planning and transitions of care to ensure safe handoffs
- Maintain timely, accurate medical documentation
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Active New Hampshire medical license and current DEA registration
- BLS certification
