Hospitalist job in Portland ME

Join a growing post-acute care team in Portland, Maine, where you'll focus on inpatient hospitalist work with a schedule that supports a true work-life balance. This full-time position is Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM - no weekends and no on-call responsibilities - so you can spend evenings and weekends with family or on whatever recharges you.

What you'll do

• Provide facility-based care for medically complex patients in a post-acute/inpatient setting.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to support recovery, transitions of care, and long-term patient relationships.
• Practice with a high degree of clinical autonomy while having strong clinical support and resources available.
• Opportunities to cover multiple facilities as needed and to shape care delivery at your site.

• Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
• No weekends, no call
• Full-time, part-time, and PRN roles available
• Facility-based post-acute care practice

Locations

• Primary opening: Portland, Maine
• Additional opportunities in Hyannis, MA; Burlington, VT; and St. Albans, VT

• Guaranteed compensation range: $200,000-$500,000+ (most full-time physicians earn between $300k-$500k)

Who we're looking for

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, or a related specialty
• Active, unrestricted state medical license or eligibility to obtain one
• DEA registration or eligibility to obtain
• Experience in hospital medicine, post-acute care, skilled nursing, long-term care, geriatrics, or internal medicine preferred
• Strong clinical judgment with the ability to manage complex medical patients
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
• Willingness to travel between assigned facilities as needed
