• Specialty: Pediatrics / Pediatrics Hospitalist
• Board Certification: Required - Board Certified Pediatrician only
• New York Medical License: Required - NY license must be in hand
• BLS: Required
• PALS: Required
• NRP: Required
• AHA or RQI Certifications: Required
• Epic Experience: Required

Availability & Assignment

• Start Date: January 4, 2027
• Shift Type: 24-hour call shifts
• Weekday Coverage: Required
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Multiple consecutive 24-hour shifts may be available based on coverage needs
• Provider may remain out of the hospital when there are no acute hospital issues
• Must be able to return to the hospital within 20 minutes at all times while on call
• If called in for patient care, 4 hours are provided at no charge

Clinical Coverage

• Newborn Nursery
• High-risk deliveries
• Emergency Department consultations
• Pediatric inpatient unit
• Level I nursery with high-risk deliveries
• Must be able to resuscitate and stabilize critically ill newborns pending transport to a NICU
• Typical newborn census: 4-10
• Typical pediatric inpatient census: 0-3

Clinical Setting

• Acute Care Hospital
• Trauma Level: Adult III/IV
• Provider Coverage: 1 Pediatrician (locum or staff) and 1 Obstetrics physician and/or midwife
• 24/7 anesthesia coverage available through CRNA or MD
• No NP or LPN coverage
• CNA/CMA support available
• No float requirement

EMR & Charting

• EMR: Epic
• Epic experience required
• Templates and order sets available

Additional Information

• Hospital calls handled through provider's personal cell phone
• Attire: Scrubs or business casual
• Closed-toe shoes required
• False nails are not permitted
• Tattoos and piercings accepted
