Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner

The Opportunity

A hospitalist APP line at a 139-bed Prime Healthcare hospital in Michigan's Blue Water Area, with five to six admissions a shift and a choice of pattern: 7a 3p rounding and admissions, or a 3p 11p swing focused on admitting and cross-coverage. About 15 days a month. The ICU is open with 24/7 tele-intensivist support, and you work as part of the hospitalist physician team rather than parallel to it.

What You'll Own

• Five to six admissions a shift a workload you can do properly.
• A choice of shift pattern: day rounding and admissions, or an afternoon swing.
• Integration with the hospitalist physician team, not an isolated APP service.
• An open ICU with 24/7 tele-intensivist coverage behind the sickest patients.

Must-Haves

• NP or PA
• Michigan license, or eligibility in process
• Inpatient experience preferred

Nice to Have

• Prior hospitalist or admissions experience
• Comfort with cross-coverage
• Epic familiarity

What Working Here Is Actually Like

• $120,000 salary, or $65 per hour whichever structure suits you.
• Full W-2 benefits. Medical, dental and vision from the first of the month after hire; employer-paid life at 1x salary up to $300,000; employer-paid long-term disability at 60% of salary; 401(k). The benefit plan year runs 1 October to 30 September.
• Malpractice and tail both covered. Tail is the one people forget to ask about until they leave.
• Epic.
• About 15 days a month, with a shift pattern you help choose.
• Physician-owned and physician-managed since 2012. When you escalate a problem, it reaches a physician who still works clinical shifts.
• Not a locums agency. An ongoing program position with a named, stable team.
