Position Overview
- Inpatient Pediatric Hospitalist locum coverage for up to 1 year
- Admit patients from the ER and cover patients admitted to the hospitalist service
- Reason for Coverage: Medical leave
Schedule & Coverage
- Start Date: December 17, 2026
- Initial Coverage: December 17 (4a-7a handoff), then December 17 (7a)-January 2 (4a)
- First stretch begins at 4a for handoff; all other shifts begin and end at 7a
- Shift: 24-hour shifts; handoff typically occurs at 4a or 4p
- Shifts per Month: 10-15
- Typical Schedule: 6-10 days/month
- Duration: Up to 1 year
- FTE: 1.0
Clinical Setting & Responsibilities
- Inpatient Pediatric Hospitalist coverage, 24 hours
- Coverage of all newborn births
- Pediatric admissions
- Rounding and ongoing care for admitted pediatric patients
Patient Volume
- Average 2-4 neonates/day
- Average 1-2 inpatient pediatric patients/day
- Volume may increase during RSV and cold season
