What You ll Do

• Provide direct medical care to hospitalized patients, including admissions, rounding, and discharges
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a variety of acute and chronic conditions
• Collaborate with specialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other providers
• Coordinate patient care plans and ensure smooth transitions
• Order, interpret, and respond to lab tests, imaging, and diagnostics
• Respond to emergencies, including codes and rapid responses
• Manage ventilators and assist with critical care as needed
• Participate in clinical rounds, hospital committees, and quality improvement initiatives
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses and follow-up care
• Document thoroughly in the EMR and adhere to hospital policies and standards

What You Need

• Required:
  
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Active Vermont medical license or ability to obtain
  • DEA license
  • At least 1 year of hospitalist experience preferred but not mandatory

  • Ability to work independently in a rural hospital setting
