Hospitalist Physician

We areseeking an experienced Locums Hospitalist Medicine Physician foran on-site inpatient opportunity in Gainesville, Florida. This positionincludes day and night shifts, weekend coverage, and call and isideal for a physician with strong hospital medicine experience who iscomfortable caring for medically complex patients in a large tertiary-care andteaching hospital.

Position Highlights

• Day Shifts: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
• Night Shifts: 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
• Weekends required
• Call coverage
• 532-bed hospital
• Hospitalists manage approximately 75% of the overall census
• Typical rounding census: 20-22 patients per physician
• ICU rounding required
• No trauma services
• Consulting physician sees approximately 12-20 patients per day

Clinical Environment This is ahigh-acuity tertiary-care medical center with extensive specialty andcritical-care resources, including:

• Intensive Care Unit
• Comprehensive stroke services
• STEMI services
• Complex Cardiac Center
• Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT) services
• Graduate Medical Education ( GME ) teaching program
• Multidisciplinary specialty support

Responsibilities TheHospitalist will provide comprehensive inpatient medical care, including:

• Daily rounds and evaluation of hospitalized patients
• Management of acute and chronic medical conditions
• ICU rounding and patient management
• Admission and discharge management
• Coordination of care with consulting physicians and specialists
• Collaboration with nursing, residents, APPs, and other members of the multidisciplinary team
• Management of medically complex patients in a tertiary-care setting

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Hospitalist experience required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
• Active Florida medical license
• Active Florida DEA
