Hospitalist Physician Assistant

Clinical Responsibilities•Provide full-spectrum inpatient hospitalist care. •Triage and admit patients. •Perform daily inpatient rounding. •Manage patient discharges and transitions of care. •Evaluate and address changes in patients' clinical status. •Perform physical examinations and develop appropriate treatment plans. •Develop medical, educational, and psychosocial plans in collaboration with physicians and the care team. •Coordinate further evaluation and referrals to specialists or other healthcare professionals when appropriate. •Provide treatment within established protocols and scope of practice. •Identify conditions outside the provider's scope and appropriately refer to a physician. Practice & System Support•Dedicated support and advocacy for APPs through an Office of Advanced Practice. •Access to a large, fully integrated, nonprofit healthcare system serving communities throughout Connecticut. •Utilize EPIC and advanced clinical and informatics technology to support patient care and provider satisfaction. •Established mentorship and orientation programs designed for newly hired providers and those new to practice. •Ongoing professional development opportunities, CME, courses, learning series, and leadership development.
