Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner

Locums - San Antonio, Texas, NP/PA Nocturnist Opening

Clinical Role

• Start date: January 1, 2027
• 3-month assignment
• Inpatient Hospitalist coverage
• Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants considered
• Acute Care certification required
• Provide evaluation and management of hospitalized adult patients
• Perform patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage ongoing inpatient care
• Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, specialists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
• Assist with admissions, daily rounding, and discharge planning as appropriate
• Monitor changes in patient condition and communicate clinical concerns to the Hospitalist team

Schedule & Coverage

• Must be able to work nights
• Additional schedule details to be determined

Practice Model & Clinical Expectations

• Work collaboratively with the Hospitalist team
• Review diagnostic testing and laboratory results
• Manage common acute and chronic medical conditions in the inpatient setting
• Complete timely clinical documentation
• Facilitate appropriate consultations and transitions of care

Requirements & Credentialing

• Board Certified NP or PA
• Acute Care certification required
• Active Texas license required
• Previous inpatient Hospitalist experience preferred
