Pediatric Hospitalist Physician

Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Backup Call

Schedule:

• 7:00 AM 5:00 PM
  
• Overnight backup call with callback as needed
  
• Preferred availability: 7 10 consecutive days per month
  
• 7 on/7 off call rotation

Support Staff: 3 PA/NPs and 2 RNs
Board Certification: Board Certified Pediatrician
License: Active North Dakota medical license
Fellowship: Preferred
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
Patient Population: Pediatrics and Newborn Nursery
Average Census: Approximately 11 patients
Typical Admissions: 1 3 per shift

Call Details:

• Backup call with approximately 2 phone consults per 24 hours
  
• 1 2 callbacks/admissions when needed
  
• Callback rate under 10%
  
• 20-minute response time

Position Overview:

An established pediatric hospitalist service is seeking a Locum Tenens Pediatric Hospitalist for ongoing inpatient coverage. The role includes daytime rounding, newborn nursery coverage, overnight backup call, and collaboration with an experienced clinical team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient pediatric hospitalist coverage
  
• Manage assigned pediatric and newborn patients
  
• Cover Level I and Level II nursery patients
  
• Attend high-risk deliveries and C-sections as needed
  
• Respond to overnight backup call
  
• Collaborate with PA/NP support and hospital staff
