• Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) invite applications for academic hospital medicine faculty positions across MGH, BWH, and Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital (BWFH). Join one academic hospital medicine community with opportunities to practice across multiple sites, including daytime, “nocturnist,” and hybrid schedules.
• Faculty are credentialed across campuses, making it easier to pursue opportunities at more than one site. Whether hospital medicine is your long-term career or a necessary step in your career to fellowship or beyond, the program offers mentorship, faculty development, and opportunities to build an academic career in medical education, research, quality improvement, bedside ultrasound (POCUS), procedures, and clinical and operational leadership. Faculty are eligible to receive a Harvard Medical School teaching appointment and teach internal medicine residents, Harvard Medical School (HMS) students, and Mass General Brigham University of Health Professions (MGB-UHP) students.

The role offers:

• Flexible Practice: Daytime, nighttime and hybrid hospital medicine attending physician roles are available across MGH, BWH, and BWFH.

• Didactics: Regular day/night sessions dedicated exclusively to hospital medicine topics and updates.

Responsibilities include:

• Inpatient care: Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care, including patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, daily clinical management, interdisciplinary care coordination, discharge planning and supervision and education of medical trainees.
• Work collaboratively: Partner with multidisciplinary care teams including nurses, advanced practice providers, medical trainees, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive, safe, efficient, and patient-centered inpatient care.
• Service Citizenship: Regular participation in educational conferences and monthly business meetings, active engagement in divisional activities, and consistently collegial, respectful, kind, and supportive interactions with colleagues.
• QI improvement: Participate continuous quality improvement through peer evaluation and engagement in practice and system-level initiatives to enhance patient safety, quality of care, and healthcare delivery.

Pay Range: $231,000 - $315,000

Requirements include a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree or equivalent. Must have completed a three-year residency in Internal Medicine. Must be licensed by Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine. Must possess DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) certification from the Dept. of Justice, ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association, and CRS (Controlled Substance Registration) certification from the MA Dept. of Health. Must be certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, or eligible to become certified within one year of hire. H1B visa sponsorship.
