Hospitalist Physician

Locums - Woodland, California, Hospitalist Opening

Clinical Role

• Start January 2027
• 2 Hospitalists needed
• Hospital-based coverage
• Approximately 12-16 patients per day
• Open ICU
• Coverage needed due to staffing vacancies and provider leave

Schedule & Coverage

• Day shift: 8:00 am-6:00 pm
• Night shift: 6:00 pm-7:00 am
• Approximately 6-12 day shifts per month
• Approximately 2-4 night shifts per month
• Occasional additional coverage may be available
• Providers must be willing to work a mix of day and night shifts

Practice Model & Clinical Expectations

• Admit patients from the Emergency Department
• Conduct daily rounds and complete progress notes
• Manage acute medical conditions
• Coordinate care with subspecialists
• Review laboratory and imaging results
• Medication reconciliation
• Discharge planning and follow-up instructions
• Communicate with primary care physicians
• Conduct family meetings and care conferences
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and case management
• Adhere to hospital quality and safety protocols
• Participate in process improvement initiatives

Support & Systems

• Cerner EMR

Requirements & Credentialing

• Board Certification required
• Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency required
• Active California license required
• Clean malpractice history highly preferred
