Job Details

Provide medical leadership and attend to patients at local skilled nursing and long-term care facilities in Knoxville, TN. Practice independently while collaborating with facility staff to manage post-acute and long-term care needs.

Key responsibilities
  • Serve as Medical Director and attending physician for one or more skilled nursing facilities
  • Conduct 18-25 patient visits per day across assigned facilities
  • Provide comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, medication management, and documentation
  • Coordinate care with nursing staff, therapists, consultants, and families
  • Maintain clinical leadership, quality oversight, and regulatory compliance at assigned sites
  • Participate in performance improvement and interdisciplinary meetings as needed

Schedule
  • Full-time and part-time positions available
  • Typical coverage: each facility 1-2 days per week
  • No fixed daily start/end times, no overnight shifts, no on-call responsibilities
  • Flexible schedule supporting work-life balance

Qualifications
  • MD or DO with unrestricted U.S. medical license or eligibility for licensure
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, PM&R, or Emergency Medicine
  • Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and leadership skills
  • Commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care
  • New graduates who are board-eligible and actively pursuing licensure encouraged to apply
