Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner

AdventHealth Gordon is seeking a dedicated Nocturnist Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing Hospital Medicine team in beautiful Calhoun, Georgia. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who enjoys inpatient medicine and thrives in a collaborative nighttime practice setting.

As a nocturnist APP, you will play a vital role in supporting our hospitalist program by managing overnight admissions, responding to acute patient care needs, and collaborating closely with physicians, nursing staff, and specialists to ensure seamless, high-quality care throughout the night.

Position Highlights

• 14 shifts per month (7 on / 7 off)
• 8-hour shifts
• Primary responsibilities include:
• Inpatient admissions
• Cross-coverage and overnight patient management
• Evaluation and treatment of acute clinical concerns
• Coordination of care with attending physicians and consultants
• Documentation and communication to support smooth daytime handoffs
• Collaborative hospital medicine team with strong physician support

Qualifications

• APRN or PA-C with active or eligible Georgia licensure
• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner preferred for inpatient practice
• Prior hospital medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, or inpatient experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
