Pediatric Hospitalist Physician

Coverage: Part-time or Full-time Minimum 4 shifts/month
Setting: Inpatient
Patient Population: Newborns and Pediatric Patients
Patient Volume: newborns and pediatric patients/day

Schedule:

• 7:00 AM 4:00 PM: Newborn nursery coverage
  
• 7:00 AM 8:00 PM: Acute pediatric care
  
• 7:00 PM 7:30 AM: Overnight coverage for newborns and pediatrics
  
• All shifts require in-house coverage; no call responsibilities
  
• Weekend availability required

Clinical Details:

• Newborn care is limited to the nursery; no deliveries or NICU coverage
  
• Pediatric care is acute inpatient only; no ICU coverage
  
• Lumbar punctures required for pediatric floor coverage
  
• Circumcisions are optional
  
• Intermittent resident teaching
  
• In-house ED and PICU support

EMR: Allscripts and Cerner, with transition to Epic planned

Requirements:

• MD/DO
  
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
  
• 1 2 years of experience after residency
  At least 1 year of newborn care or pediatric hospitalist experience
• Arizona medical license
  
• AHA BLS and PALS
  
• Arizona DEA
  
• Must be able to perform required procedures
  
• Clean background and no malpractice or license issues

Additional Information:

• New hospital opening with coverage expected through Fall 2027
  
• Credentialing timeframe: 3 4 months
  
• Temporary privileges are not available
  
• Travel and lodging support available
